What this is actually for

  • Payments arrive as SMS confirmations. Invoices live somewhere else entirely.

  • Somebody spends hours every month reading messages and ticking off a list.

  • A customer pays from their spouse’s phone and the payment cannot be identified.

  • One round payment covers two invoices, and now the books do not balance.

Where it stands

What is built, and what is not

The left column is everything you have just used. The right is everything you have not, because it does not exist yet.

Built

  • Matching on amount, sender name and timing — with the reasoning shown
  • Handling the cases that break a spreadsheet: paid by someone else, one payment covering several invoices, part payments, tambala
  • Parsing both networks’ SMS formats, including the inconsistencies

Not built yet

  • Reading the SMS stream automatically instead of pasting
  • Statement import from Airtel and TNM
  • Learning your regular payers, so a spouse is recognised next time
  • Export to whatever your accountant uses

The order these get built in is not fixed. It is one of the things a first customer gets a say in.
